Question |
What are the benefits of buck wheat hull products? |
| |
Buckwheat hull products provide better all-over support, thanks to the body-conforming properties of the buck wheat hulls themselves. The lightweight, malleable buck wheat hulls instantly conform to the shape of your head or body without flattening, providing complete support.
The unique polynomial properties of the buck wheat hulls themselves enable a bit of air to circulate around the husks, thus keeping heads and bodies cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Best of all, buck wheat hull products are completely biodegradable, making them Earth-friendly. And, they are a snap to clean. |

Question |
How do I clean my buck wheat hull pillow? |
| |
Simply empty the hulls into a container and throw the slipcover into the wash. Once it’s dry, simply refill. Smaller pillows can be thrown into the wash, but they must be washed on hot and thoroughly dried on the hot setting. |

Buckwheat hulls are derived from a member of the rhubarb family—not from a grass or wheat— making allergies to buck wheat hulls extremely rare. My Therapy Products™ buck wheat hull products are an excellent alternative for individuals who are allergic to down or to man-made fibers. |

Question |
I’ve never heard of buck wheat hull-filled products. Where do they come from? |
| |
Buckwheat hull-filled products originated in Southeast Asia, where the hulls have been used for hundreds of years to fill pillows, mats and futons. The hulls are actually the byproduct of the buck wheat seeds that are used to make buck wheat noodles.
Buckwheat hulls also have been used for many decades in Canada, where it was quickly discovered that buck wheat hulls have heat-retention properties far greater than other traditional “stuffings.” Thus, buck wheat hull mattresses and pillows are quite popular in Canada, and the hulls are even used to line chicken coups to help keep the chickens warm during sub-zero conditions. |
